Chevrolet Impala Thermostat Problem

First off my transmission is messed up and we are still driving it. First second and revearse. Anyways. Now we are noticing we always need to put water or antifreeze in. Also when it is idle it starts to run hot but as soon as u start driving it cools back down, it sometimes makes a squeaking sound like a belt, and sometimes the heater doesnt get hot? What is that? Could it be a fan belt? Or thermostat?

If the thermostat was bad it wouldn't cool down when you were moving.Does the radiator cooling fan working?
