I have a 2004 Chevy Aveo that failed inspection for no bulb connection (check engine light.)

After doing some research online it seemed the ECM was at falut. I replaced it with a used one from a salvage yard. The light works now.

The unit is no showing connections for the catalyic convertor and some sensors. The guy at the inspection station said that I should drive it for 200 miles and the computer will reset.

Is this true? I'm hoping it is since I really don't have the money for a brand new computer.

Update: the ECM did reset and I passed inspection. Thank you to the NJ inspection guy, for the advise.
