2004 Chevrolet Avalanche Repair Question

Lock on tailgate
2004 avalanche, key turns only partway in tailgate lock, sprayed wd40, feels like mechcanical issue, dont want to pay dealer $$$$ replacement if fixable. Any Idea how or who can do this?

You need access to the inside of the tailgate. From there, you will see a removeable panel to gain access to the linkage and handle. Check to see if the linkage is bent, disconnected...
