My heat does not work. It blows cold air. I did notice some slight smoke coming from under the hood and a slight smell of antifreeze. The car does not over heat. The temp gage will go slighty past center but no further

Check to make sure the coolant level is full. Also, check to see if both heater core hoses are getting hot. If only one is hot, flush the heater core. If both are hot, check the blend air door.
