Why does my car not start initial but if i give it gas start and run with no cutting out

My 2003 polo struggles to start on first turn of the key but if i repeat the process once more it starts, with a little gas.
I've had the car serviced and post service it started at the turn of the key. Its now gone back into old habbits and needs the gas to start.
Also, if i turn the key and it stops the oil light comes on indicating that its possibly the pump. Is this the case and should i get it fixed pronto?

check your oil level first, then have scanned for codes and check fuel pressure. it may be just a dirty fuel filter.
