My check engine line has been on for awhile but no noticable problems. Today while waiting for daughter to come out my car died. I tried to restart several times and it was finally ok. I went less than half a mile and my car died while merging. It was very hard to turn the wheel. I got to the side of the road and restarted my car again. I took it to Pepboys they said it may be the alternator but 7codes came up and mention coils?...they did not have to repair and asked I leave the car. I was 50 miles from home and could not do that. I made it home safelybut now I am scared to drive it. I'm debating buying another car due to the miles

The wheel was hard to turn because the power steering pump was not turning... due to engine not running.

Too many variables to guess at what is wrong.

I would need all 7 codes and even then it would just be a guess.

Have a vw garage look at it an fix it... you will get the money back when you sell the car.
