I've recently had my DPF removed and cleaned at a garage due to power loss and car going into limp mode and it cost me £650. One day later I was driving and I had a loss of acceleration, the engine management light came on and told me to continue driving cleaning filter. How can this be.

Sounds like they didn't actually clean it. Usually cleaning a DPF takes a special oven that brings the entire unit up to high temperature to burn out all of the soot and carbon. Normally this takes a couple days as the unit is removed sent to the oven, baked and cleaned out, then returned and re-installed. However unless done properly it won't actually clear out the build up, instead it creates more soot that blocks the passages. In your case it sounds like it wasn't fully cleaned and the vehicle determined that a regeneration cycle was needed. If it completes the regen and runs fine after that then I wouldn't worry about it. Lets run the codes to see what comes up this guide will help us fix it.

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis, finding out what's going on.

The flashing Check Engine light means stop the engine immediately. Too much unburned fuel is going into the exhaust system where it will overheat and damage the very expensive catalytic converter.

The Engine Computer detected a problem, set a diagnostic fault code, and since the problem could adversely affect emissions, it turned on the Check Engine light. The place to start is by having the diagnostic fault code(s) read and recorded. Those will indicate the circuit or system that needs further diagnosis.

Engine Mechanical problem
2000 Vauxhall Astra Manual 43000 miles

please can you help,
my engine/man/light keeps staying on, I took it garage to be fixed they said the fault was throttle position fuse, to which they fixed. Picked car up next day, and on way home light came on again. Took it back they said it might need resetting. They took it apart so they said reset it, cleaned it up, and still keeps coming up with the same fault that they had fixed. They said that I need to take it to a dealer.
Please help.

There is no throttle position fuse. There is a TPS (throttle position sensor). The sensor probably needs replacing or there could be a fault on the wiring to the sensor. Resetting the cars computer is a simple matter of pluggging the vehicle into a computer and pressing a couple of button's. There is no need to strip anything down?

I have a 98 r reg astra artic, my engine light comes on when car is first started, it goes off as it should, then couple minutes later comes back on, it then stays on for a short while(10-15 min) then goes off again, the car judders at 30-40mph every so often but again stops. The light isnt constantly on-only for short periods of time

this might not be any relavence but a few days before the engine light started coming on, I has my exhaust middle box welded back together as it had come apart, this was done by my local garage of who I use reguarly and trust, ive taken the car to them with this problem and the have put it on the diagnostic thing but it couldnt find a error code

You have an intermittent fault. The quickest way to track it down is to get the car to your garage when the check engine light is on ! It could be a sensor going bad/coil going bad/faulty wire etc. Etc. . Your tech really needs to get a diagnostic fault code or to see the vehicle when the car is having the fault occur !

Leave the car over night at the garage so the mechanic can check it first thing when the fault occurs. !
