I replaced the water pump and thermostat 3 weeks ago. While checking I noticed that the bottom rad hose was not hot, the top hose was. I had drove the truck for a half hour or more. The gauge reads in the normal range the heater is warm, but I am concerned that the coolant is not circulating even though the engine is not running hot. I installed the thermostat with the jiggle hole down as the instructions read. What are your thoughts on this.

The top hose is always hot. It then goes through the radiator to cool it down. That is normal an dnothing to worry about

Get the water hose to keep the radiator full. When the thromastate opens the hot water comes out the hose. Then it pulls cool water from the radiator. It will keep doing that cycleing. This will answer the question about cyculation`then just put the hose on.
