Trouble code says it is a high flow purge issue. Mechanic pressure /smoke tested for leaks and believes it to be the sensor solenoid. I can see the sensor but I don't know what to remove so I can reach it. Does the quick connect require a special tool for removal?

The code reads P0496 evaporative emission system high purge flow. The part looks like a small canister-about the size of a 35 mlm roll of film. There is a length of tube with quick disconnects on both ends of the canister.

The part is located close to the dash wall just behind the engine block. It is a v6 3 ltr automatic

I belive there is a little tab you push to the side to release the hose then pull the hose off. Before replacing it see if you can blow thru it if you can thenits stuck open. If you cant blow thru it then its probably not the problem. Did they ever remove the gas with the key in the run position engine off and see what the fuel pressure sensor was reading?
