2003 SAAB 9-3 Repair Question

SAAB 9-3 Radio Problem
I just bought a 2003 Saab 9-3 Linear and the radio display lights do not work with engine on but light up with key in on (but not start) position. How can I fix this problem?

most likely have to have someone with a scan tool look in the bcm to see if the signal is getting there when running. could also be a fault in the radio but i doubt it.
