My driver side floor board front and back is always soaked. Where is water coming from?

My boyfriend lifted up carpet and said its about two inches of water.I sent in a pic but he had sopped up most of it. He said it is not from the heater coil though. He also said he thinks it might be the metal floor where it looks like it is sealed together and maybe the seal has been broken. Also about four years ago "really crazy" I was working and while my car was parked someones whole tire and rim came off their car and rolled and hit the driver front of my car. Not sure if it could have done any kind of seal damage. I had the bumps and bruises fixed but they said there was no other repair to be done. Any ideas?

Yur floor appears to be cracked from the picture. But have your bf put silicone where the sheet metal comes together under the car if he can. If not do it on the floor board and let it dry at least overnite. Without really looking at this it will be hard to properly diagnose.
