Mazda Protege Gas Problem
Answer
what is the code??
white smoke is burning coolant from a head gasket from overheating. get a leak down test done to make sure the head gasket is ok
Roy
didn't get a code. the car never overheated
this happened 1 year ago. I disconnected the battery, added water remover to tank, car cleared up. not working this time.
does not explain the coolant in the cylinders. this will not code for cooling system.
are you sure it is white??
Roy
i have to pump gas pedal to start. could it be a fuel pump fuse or the fule pump relay?
no, a bad fuse or relay would result in no start at all
Roy
I just started the car again today without using the gas pedal. Lots of bueish white smoke from the exhaust. Is that the head gasket? If so, do you know about the price it is to fix?
blue is oil, white is coolant and black is unburnt fuel.
we need to get the colors right here to make sure we are talking about the same thing
roy
I have to say it is whiter than bluish. Lets go with white.
rough bid if you have a head gasket would be between 1200 to 1500
