I have a 2003 Jeep Liberty. Further, I live in upstate NY where it is still cold, especially at night. When I try to start my car in the morning it will turn over and actually start, but then immediately dies as soon as the RPMs come down. If I start the car with the accelerator all the way depressed the car starts and by keeping the RPMs above 1500 I can keep it running. I usually do this for a few minutes until the engine is warm. Usually if I then stop depressing the accelerator and the RPMs come back down it will still stall out. So what I have to do is to let the RPMs come down as low as possible without letting it stall then shift it into drive and begin driving. After I drive it a very short ways I can stop and put it in park and it will stay running with no other action needed by me. Further, after this if I shut it off and it doesn't sit too long I can start it right back up and it's fine. What could the problem be?
