2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee transmission

We just put in a used tranny, now we have a pumping swishing sound. When shut jeep off it does that till quit pumping. We never had this problem till put this tranny in. Does this mean this tranny is bad too?

As soon as the engine stops the trans quits pumping just like the engine. It may be air in the system or maybe a vent problem. Make sure the trans fluid is up to snuff then have a trans guy look at it for a better opinion

Thank you. My husband found some metal flakes in pan. Its making the sound all time now. So we will be safe and just put any tranny in. Have a good weekend.
