The RPM's on my 2003 Hyundai Elantra GT are reeving between 3 and 4. At times it will stay there and not seem to want to down shift even when the gas or brake are engaged. The acceleration seems to drag when this happens some of the time but other times it just seems like the engine reeves up. The RPMS are even bouncing around when the car is in park. Recently my motor mounts where changed and prior to that the problem did not exist. The engine light has come on but it went off before they could scan it for the error code. The spark plugs, wires, air filters, transmission fluids and other basic tune up maintenance was recently done and the problem is still happening.

Check for a vacuum leak, like a hose off, broken, etc. Clean throttle plate with choke cleaner on both sides as well as iac hole

It may have just one vacuum hose off causing the problem, especially since the motor mounts were replaced it may have pulled a hose off or broke one.
