The emergency brake handle is stuck in the on position on my 2003 Hyundai Elantra. How can I release it?

Pulled into driveway and pulled up emergency brake handle and shut off car. Now handle is stuck and can not release it.

No the brake button is stuck into brake release handle. But found the cable and released it and handle back in the off position. Will try to adjust or leave handle in the down ( off ) position until can have a mechanic check. Thanks for the help.
