Clunk sound

When shifting from park to reverse (cold only) my 03 odyssey makes a loud clunk, kind of like I was parked on a hill without the parking brake on, but I'm not. Shifts fine otherwise and no vibrations. Any ideas on what to check.

Thanks for the reply. I checked all 4 mounts and they looked good. Rubber looked fine and no excessive movement or noises when reving the engine (low rev while in drive with foot on brake). And no vibration at idle. The clunk only happens when the engine is cold shifting into reverse from park or drive. Wondering what else I can check? Have changed trans fluid every 30k miles and dip stick looks good now.

For some time I would have very intermittent stall/jerk of car when accelerating. Could not get problem really diagnosed by my regular mechanic. Recently driving it and stopped at light, when I let off the brake and pressed to accelerate, there was kind of a loud clunk (thought someone must have bumped into me), the car jerked forward a little and died. I started the engine again and it ran fine in neutral. When I put it into gear it would kind of clunk and die. Repeated 5-6 times. Then it started and I drove over 100 miles with no further problems over two days. I did notice a grinding sound once when I was decelerating coming into stop light at about 25 mph. Any ideas? One friend suggested torgue converter clutch solenoid, and another help sight questioned the CV joints. Thanks. Feels like I'm at Car Talk
