So I was driving to work and all the needles in my car went down and the all the lights started dimming, as soon as I exit and slowed down all my lights turned off and my car died. I jumped started it and it started running again, I drove it down about a mile and it completely died again, I tried to jump start it again and it started up, but as soon as I take the cables off it died again. So my question is, is my battery or alternator that I need to replace?

Charge the battery first then have it tested, tire stores and autoparts do for free if on the car they can check whether or not the alternator is charging as well. It may be a bad belt and tensioner for the alternator though
