2003 Ford Taurus Repair Question

Topics covered: Fuel pressure, Coil pack, Egr valve.
Mileage: 80,100 miles.

Asked on January 17, 2012

My car is misfiring, the check engine light is on and the codes are PO301 and PO316.

I've been told that it may be the coil pack. Where is it located and is it difficult to replace?

scan for codes and check fuel pressure first before replacing any part.

I've already scanned for the codes. They are Po301 and Po316.

both of the codes relate to the same thing, check cam position sensor, stuck open EGR valve, or blocked EGR passages. also check fuel pressure. fuel pressure should be 26-45 psi key on engine running
