Which piston is #1, and are even numbered pistons on one side and odd on the other. my vehicle is a with a 4.6 liter v-8. i need to know which cylinders to go to for a misfire condition. 1,4,and 8 are misfiring.

Is #1 cylinder on drivers or passengers side. Does the cylinder sequence go 1,2,3,4 on one side 5,6,7,8, on the other. Or does it go all even on one side all odd on the other. Again it is a 2003 F-150 with 4.6 liter Triton V-8

If you look along the front of the heads, one will sit slightly forward of the other. That will be the #! bank.
