I have a 2003 Ford F 150 with a 4.6 v8 it has Flowmaster exhaust in a Spectre cold air intake and also have an SCT flash programmer. What my question is I'm wondering if anyone is familiar with this equipment and would know how to self tune my truck to get the maximum fuel economy.

Hello,

Anytime you want to get the best possible fuel economy first thing you need to do is to do a tune up on the engine.
Change out spark plugs, clean out mass air flow sensors, idle air control valve, throttle body etc. Also replacing fuel filter is recommended.
Just by cleaning out some of these components can really improve the driving dynamics of the vehicle and restore performance and fuel economy.
Also it is important to scan the vehicle for any trouble codes that might impact the fuel economy and performance.

Here is a helpful guide on tune up:

Now as far as the SCT tuner is concern, best step would be to go to their site and you will
be able to download the tuning steps for best fuel mileage.

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
