Dodge Dakota Axle Problem

Im stuck in the middle of replacing a BEARING on the INSIDE of the front DIFFERENTIAL on my 2003 4.7L V8 Dakota, i have the CV shaft off, diff cover off, but it appears to get the bearing out i need to remove the 'snub shaft'/'half shaft'. now the CV shaft was retained on the 'snub shaft' by a small c-ring which the CV shaft slid over and 'snapped' into place.. im curious if there is another ring on the inside of the diff to keep the shaft in place, and if so HOW DO I FINISH THIS JOB?!? (PREFERABLY W/O USING A SPECIAL 'SHAFT PULLER' DEVICE)
