How can I tell if the starter relay is bad in my 2003 Chevy Trailblazer? When I was driving yesterday it died. I thought the battery was dead but I checked it and it showed 12 volts. When I checked the stater relay it came right out of the of the socket with very little effort. Does that mean it needs to be replaced?

The starter relay only comes in play before the engine fires up, it has nothing to do with it stalling-

I assumed it cranks over and will not start if so do below

Test the alternator if okay-Check the fuel pressure if its within specs to rule the fuel pump and also if the injectors are pulsing all okay-check for spark
