My 2003 Impala w/3.4 v-6 every few months the idle speed has a mind of its own. Mostly real fast idle. Like 60mph on the freeway without touching the pedal. After a few days it returns to normal. This has been going on for 2 years. I finally tried pulling the TPS plug, and the idle returns to normal for a day, with the check engine light coming on. And off. The code reader says low signal input from tps. Do I need to replace the tps? And is there anything special I need to do after replacing it. Or could it be something else? Im really counting on your response by E-mail. Im at my wits end and very short on money. Please help!
