Removing ignition switch
The key to my 2003 avalanche is not turning and the steering wheel is not locking. i can turn the wheel without putting the key in, not that the key is even turning. do i need a new ignition switch or what.

You nay not have a steering lock on your vehicle but it sounds like maybe the key or the cylinder is worn out.
