Why do wiper and air not work until car put in gear?

With our 2003 Buick Rendezvous when you first start the car, the front wipers will not turn on, the back wiper will not turn on, and the air conditioning blower will not turn on until you put the car in gear. The radio is fine however. Once you put the car in gear everything will turn on and work fine. This just started happening a week or so ago. Any thoughts or help?

Sounds like a malfunction in the body control module. You need a shop that can view these functions on a scan tool to see if they are turned on or off when you start the car.
