Is there an air line from the brake pedal to the transmission?

My 2002 Volvo S60 2.4t runs great. However, recently I started hearing what sounds like an air leak coming from the brake and/or gas pedal when I am driving. It stops when I step on the brake. I got down on the floor of the car and pushed the pedal with my hand. I could hear it engage and disengage under the shift handle/center console, thus I am wondering if there is some sort of air line that disengages the trans when you go to shift from park to drive?

Nope. Could be a leaking front seal on the brake booster.
