2002 Volkswagen Passat Engine Confusion VW

HI, my name is Jose.
I just got done buying a 2002 VW Passat. Now under the hood I noticed the engine Size of the wagon shows clearly that it is a 3.0 V6.
But I see in parts store that the car they only Show for the 2.8L V6.
I'm a bit confused.

30V = 30 valves.

It is a 2.8L engine with 30 valves (5 valves per cylinder).

In case you are still having issues. Attached is a picture of the engine cover.

V6 = 6 cylinders
30V = 30 valves (5 valves per cylinder)
