The control lever for my four wheel drive has come out of the transfer case while the truck is in 4 wheel low. I drove it home at 35 mph, and sensed a smell and the transfer case felt hot when I crawled under the truck. Do you think I have damaged the transfer case, and what would cause the lever to come out? I will take the truck in to be repaired, but should I have it hauled, or drive it in?
