Just bought a used ecm that matches my current part numbers, is it plug and play or do I have to get it programmed or something

If you got the same year model engine size etc the only thing I can think of is you will have to learn the pass lock because it won't start.I posted the pass lock learn for you.

Wouldn't this require VIN programming Saturntech?

You wouldn't have to run and drive the car if you were just putting in a used ecm.I have only put in new one's never a used one for testing purpose's and they run and drive fine.

So I put in the used ecm and learned the passlock, however i'm having an issue - the car will not shift out of first. I'm assuming in need to flash the car. I've downloaded the ecuflash and got the proper maps but I don't know which cable i'm supposed to have. Do you know which cable is the correct one

Where did you get the ecu flash?I have never seen them down loadable for the world to get. When I worked at saturn we used the service stall to down load the software and the tech2 to link with a ethernet cable to load it on the computer. So why did you replace the car's ecm?Do you have any code's with the new ecm?I don't see why it wouldn't shift all the v6 LS model saturns were automatic's.
