Pontiac Grand Prix Coolant Problem

I turn the heat on and it is hot for a little bit and the starts blowing cooler and the temp gage starts to almost go to over heat? I'm not sure what problem is.

Check to make sure you are not low on coolant.

That's a pretty good indicator that your system is full of air pockets due to low coolant. You need to have the system pressure tested to find the leaks before you do serious internal damage.
