Step 1: Don't waste any more money or time until you put a new catalytic converter on it. Did you see the oxygen sensor behind it? The Engine Computer is going to try to modify all kinds of things the get the converter to clean up the exhaust. Those modifications to timing and fuel metering means you have a problem AND the computer is trying to make up for all the additional problems you put in the car.

"Mechanic-in-a-can" fuel treatment adds another variable. The characteristics of the fuel and how it burns have changed. Those changes will not be detected when the computer knows it can't rely on the oxygen sensor readings.

You "had a diagnostic done" and didn't post the results. The fault codes would probably provide the tiniest clue to the problem. Rather than trying various things, you might be money and time ahead taking it to a mechanic to be properly diagnosed. There are just too many problems that you or I will never figure out without the right equipment. Hacking the exhaust system suggests you are stabbing blindly at it which is the most costly and least effective way to diagnose it.
