2002 Oldsmobile Aurora smoke and smell

There is a smell like an electrical fire and a small amount of white smoke coming from the engine on the left side by the belt. Coming from below the engine. The belt is loose as well. What do you think I should do?

If the belt is loose, it may be burning from the crank pulley turning. Have you checked that? Also, if the belt is really loose, you need to get that fixed first. My guess is that you are smelling it. Check that first and let me know what you find.
