2002 Montero Sport Misfire Cyl. 5/ valve noise
2002 Mitsubishi montero sport 3.5V6 90K - two months ago started getting loud valve chatter at cold starts - goes away in about 1 minute and helped dramatically when I switched to 5W30. Shortly after started getting hesitation on acceleration and check engine light came on. Had code read and it indicated a "misfire condition on cylinder 5." Question is, could the two be related? Or two separate problems? Thanks in advance - your site is awesome.

Could be-Sounds like a lifter leakdown problem -P0305 check the no.5 sparkplug, compression and injector

i've had this same problem with my 2002 mitsubishi motero sport. We replaced plugs, wires and coil packs. One of the coil packs is not firing the 2 wires connected to it. Any advice on what i should do?
