Where is the fuel filter on my montero xls?

Ive looked everywhere.

3.5L 4wd its not the sport.

It is inside the fuel tank.

Thanks for the assit khlow2008 i was in church services so i couldnt get the info right away.So was there a reason you were asking about where the fuel filter was rdr981?Like drivabilty issues?

I have the check engine light on, when I put it on my scanner
it was pinpointing lean sytem
the egr valve is working, Ive cleaned the carbon out, the sensor was changed and now I was looking to replace the fuel filter, to see if it corrects the problem.
the codes im getting
p0174 p0171 p0401

What sensor did you change?Also have you checked for vacuum leaks or the actual fuel pressure?

the DPFE sensor, ive replaced all the Vaccum lines
I have no way of checking the pressure.

You can rent a fuel pressure gauge at auto zone.I would be looking for a vacuum leak.Let the engine idle and take some carb cleaner and spray it around all vacuum sources intake gasket hoses etc.If the idle goes up down stumbles or dies you found a leak.A vacuum leak will set those lean codes.
