I have a 2002 mercury cougar I put another engine from a 2001 mercury cougar so I have 2001 engine 2002 transmission and I am leaking fluid will the wrong flywheel cause this leak? Currently on the engine is the 2002 flywheel. Will the 2001 flywheel work for the 2002 transmission?

Forgot to ask is this a manual transmission?Because you said flywheel which would mean you had a manual transmission. Automatic transmission would be a flex plate. Also what type of fluid is leaking?
