I recently purchased a 2002 Mercury Cougar. I have had to replace the sway bar/linkage on the passenger side, rotors and brakes. Nothing major, until now. I was driving on the interstate and a light came on, my daughter looked it up and it was for the transaxle system. The mechanics where I get the oil changed in my vehicles looked at it and said that the transaxle seal needed replaced. My concern is, is this a major issue? After replacing it, is the car likely to continue to have issues concerning the transaxle? Is the car safe to drive until the repair is made? Thank you for any and all advice!!
