2002 Mercedes Benz CLK320 Repair Question

Mercedes Benz CLK320 Gas Problem
Car hesitates after acceleration, sometimes. If I turn off car and restart(pull over and park,turn off and restart)
the problem is gone. No rhyme or reason. It does this when car is cold, or I've been driving all day. Seems to do it more when gas is below 1/2 full-but not always. If electrical in nature, what does that mean?
