2002 Jaguar XK8 Repair Question

Jaguar XK8 Equipment Problem
2002 Jaguar XK8 V8 naturally aspirated w 90000 miles. A.T. & typical equipment.
Electronic/computer ? Problem.
Bought car six months ago & drove it home from Fla. ( to Seattle) . Car runs great.
Last week I started car & drove away. Immediately alarm went off for several seconds then stopped. This happened several times in just a few blocks. Turned around & drove back home as alarm continued to malfunction. Parked , shut off & removed key. Waited a few minutes & tried again. Inserted key & rotated but did not engage starter. Alarm went off for several seconds & stopped. Started car & experienced same malfunction.
Am at a loss as to cause. I think car is equipped with inertia sensor. Not sure if this could be involved.
