Jaguar X-Type Engine Problem

Why does my fan run for more than 5 minutes after I turn the car off?

because your temp sensor in radiator is eitehr keeping it on or it's going bad.

Actually, that could be it, but its likly not. The X'Type contains a special dual fan setup. This setup allows you to operate the AC, run electcrics, and charge the alternator with the ihnition in acc. mode.

Part of the fans operating under normal conditions includes cooling the engine. I had the same cthing hapoen to me. The fan is supposed to do that. It wont drain the battery, because it does some alternator trickery before it starts.

The real question should be why its coming on. My fan never came on, evej during 100+ degree weather. Check the coolant. Sometimes it leaks out, and the engine uses the fan to cool the entire engine.I bet it has something to do with that.
