Ford Taurus Heater Problem

My heater blows but doesn't get hot usually. Every once in a while it gets hot, but I need to be able to depend on it. Also my a/c doesn't blow cold any more. It went from working fine all the time to working occasionally to not working at all. Please help.

The heat issue may be due to a bad thermostat or a bad heater core fluid contorl valve. The A/C is not blowing cold because the refrigerant or r-134a is not at the proper pressure and neeeds to be flushed and filled at a repair shop.
