How to change a water pump on a ford focus SE 2003 zetec 16v doch. As easy as possible please, thank you.

Hello,

You must first drain the coolant, here is a guide and some diagrams (BELOW) that will help you get the job done.

From the Manual

Water Pump-2.0L Zetec

Removal
Disconnect the battery ground cable.
Drain the cooling system.
Loosen the coolant pump pulley retaining bolts.
Remove the accessory drive belt.
Remove the coolant pump pulley.
Detach the coolant pump from the coolant pump housing.
Rotate the coolant pump 180 degrees within the coolant pump housing and remove it.
Discard the sealing ring
Installation

NOTE: Install a new coolant pump sealing ring and lubricate with clean engine coolant.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Fill and bleed the cooling system.

Engine Cooling problem
2003 Ford Focus 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My Ford Focus is overheating. I have changed the water pump, the thermostat, and had the head checked. I put in a new head gasket. My car will run for about ten minutes and then it will start to overheat. Would this be an engine problem or possibly a radiator problem?

Do you notice if the radiator fan(s) come on properly? Are there any coolant leaks anywhere? Does it overheat in 10 minutes just idling or you mean 10 minutes of driving?

Does it cool down any if driving at highway speed? If so then it would definitely be a radiator fault, partially clogged or internally damaged. Since you have already replaced the water pump, thermostat and head gasket it is most likely not engine related unless the block or head is cracked but if that was the case you would have more issues then just overheating. I suggest having the system flushed and radiator inspected.

Engine Mechanical problem
2002 Ford Focus 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I replaced the timing belt and water pump on my focus. After I got it all put back together I went to start it and it wouldnt turn over. You can smell gas real bad. I went ahead and changed outt plugs. #3 cyclinder was full of oil. Can you give any suggestions.

My car is leaking coolant and I thought it was the water pump but no its leaking from the opposite side of the engine. Dont know what the part is? I think its got 3 10mm bolts? I did replace the water pump which it was probably time to do anyway

I have a Ford focus 02over heating problem car starts fine oils not milky Idrive up the road about 3 miles goes sstraight in to the red and does not circulate bottom hose is cold when left to idle it and there are bubbles going back in the header tank but temperature gauge says normal this only happens after we have driven the car we have replaced the water pump thermostat even the cluster clocks we have took all the hoses off in case of major airlocks even the small ones to the radiator I didn't use a Ford thermostat the heater works fine could it be a head gasket problem I don't know where to go from here hope you can help its been a brilliant car we allso took out the oringal thermostat out and I drove for aleast 25 mies no over heating put new thermostat back in 3miles up the road straight in to the red

Hello,

Pressure test the system to make sure there's no leak. If no leaks, try flushing your cooling system, make sure your cooling fan comes on.
