Sometimes when starting engine after sitting overnight, there is a loud "sucking" or "whooshing" sound of air from the engine compartment like something is either stuck closed or clogged associated with the intake. Most often it will eventually subside and the air intake quiets to normal levels. This leans me to believe a valve or door is sticking shut until the engine warms up. Engine performance is not terribly degraded by this

Hello, I'm Danny.

It might be the sound you are hearing is the viscous clutch assembly on the radiator cooling fan. When the viscous clutch is cold and the membrane is firm you are hearing the fan drawing more air as opposed as to when the clutch heats to engine temperature and gets quiet. When it comes to sounds on a vehicle what we ask you to do is make a video of any sounds with your cell phone and upload here so we can get a better idea to help diagnose the sound. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.
