Check gages light came on and battery gage is the all the way on the low side. We've replaced the altenator along with a new battery, the truck turns but the check gages still comes on and the battery gage is very low, what can it be?

The alternator is not working. It should be 14 to 14.5 volts.

Is the fat red wire on top of the alternator 12 volts?
