I've been looking into doing an engine swap in my Neon (swapping the 2.0l sohc for an SRT-4 engine) however I was wondering what would all be involved. Will I need motor mounts? If so, can you lead me in the direction to get the right ones? Will I need to change transmissions? Thanks for the help!

Hello,

Please note that anytime you want to swap the engine for a different one, you will have to change all the computers and modules with it.
The SRT-4 uses a different transmission than the base model Neon.
So the ideal setup would be to get both engine and transmission as well as ECM, PCM, BCM and all the other modules from a donor SRT-4.
As the current ECM, PCM etc., will not work with the engine for the SRT-4.

As for motor mounts you will have to use slightly different ones for the SRT-4 engine. It will require some modifications.

Also you will likely have to change the radiator and other cooling system components. It will require custom setup for the intercooler for the turbo as the base Neon does not have any brackets for it.

Hope this gave you just enough information to determine your next step.
