Hi,
I know that break lines rust, but can you also cause a brake line to burst if you are carrying a heavy load in the bed?

With a 2002 vehicle yes because it takes pressure to stop the heavier load and having maybe a weak spot in line to begin with due to rust or something hitting it will cause it to fail
