2002 Daihatsu Terios Repair Question

I have no first or second gear
Transmission failed on first and second managed to drive home in third and forth. Inspected gear lever mechanisem and gear stick to box seems ok but first and second change have no resistance seems as something has failed in the box on the gear selector mechanisem will select gear lever position for one and two but no gear connection can select three four five and reverse and gears are engaged

I feel that the the box will have to come out, something in the selector has failed, the selector fork for 1-2 shift may have broken.it uses the same shifter hub for both gears.
