Hi, i have a daihatsu sirion 2002 with an odd transmission problem:
When putting the car into drive, there is a small delay befor the transmission actually engages after that its OK although sometimes it wont engage at all and i have to take it out of gear and put it back into gear again. Then occasionally it goes into gear after the delay but is not fully engaged - only partially. It is also slow to engage on the kick down as well. Any help is much apreciated.Cheers,Richard.

Do you have a check engine light?
Check the fluid level and condition if okay bring it in and have it further checked out-

Thanks for the reply, there are no flashing lights to indicate an error.
Fluid level is fine and condition is good - nice red colour.
Cheers.

Have the throttle position and vehicle speed sensors checked and tested-if it has these sensors-if okay have the tranny further checked-
