2002 Chrysler Town and Country Repair Question
Mileage: 169,000 miles.
Transmission stuck in second gear
Answer
The P0700 means you have transmission codes what other codes do you have?
the other codes I have are p1491 and p0134. Might not be related to limp mode though.
The code P0134 is bank 1 sensor 1 o2 sensor stays at center. The code P1491 is radiator fan control relay circuit.
I posted the code description of code P0700 it means there were transmission codes set that would explain your limp mode.
I am aslo see that code p0605 has popped up after eraseing.
Codes will not erase.
Concerning limp mode I was thinking mabey speed sensor or TPS at first, But in the past on other vehicles I would disconnect battery and reset and would be limp mode free for a few miles, does not work in this case.
Does code p0605 mean TCM is faulty or could something else set the code p0605.
I posted the trouble tree for code P0605 let me know what you find.
most of the time I get code p0605 without putting in gear or starting even after clearing codes.
So far I have not had the MIL light off can't get the codes to erase.
Looks like I will be replacing TCM.
If there was a problem with sensor or something seems like it would set a DTC
It not like the MIL is triggered during the driving range.
Code p0605 says "PCM ROM error", is that refering to the engine computer or no?
The P0605 refers to a internal failure inside the tcm so it has to be replaced.
Replaced the TCM and the transmission shifts fine now.
