Chrysler 300M Special 2002 with autostick. Keeps getting locked in second gear. What's the problem with it?

Why is second gear locking up?

The shift solenoid or the torque converter solenoid may be to blame.
First check the fluid level with the engine running. Then have the trouble codes pulled. Any Advance Auto or Auto Zone will do this for free.
If it does not show fault there, you should take it to a transmission shop. Do this as oppossed to taking it to a repair shop as automtatic tranmissions are difficult to work on and require special tools and lots of experience.
